FAMTRIP NORTHERN SMÅLAND

Arrival Wednesday – depending on arrival to Göteborg Landvetter Airport, to Växjö or Linköping (both has direct flights from Amsterdam with KLM) or to Kastrup. We will help you with transfer. Accommodation, activities meals, guides and local transports are included.

PROGRAM Day 1, Wednesday

  • Isaberg Mountain Resort

    We start our tour at Isaberg Mountain Resort located in the heart of Isaberg nature reserve and offers recreational activities year-round. In winter you can ski on the 10 groomed ski runs, and during the summer there are many ways to explore Isaberg’s magnificent nature – by hiking, by renting a canoe, kayak or boat and by riding a mountain bike. Isaberg Tree Top Adventure is a giddy adventure for the courageous. On our tour you have the possibility to try some of the different courses. The fantastic Adventure Playground is the dream of every child and parent – and it’s at everyone’s disposal year-round. In the Moose Park you can meet the King of the Forest and learn more about the wildlife that lives in our forests.

    Store Mosse National Park

    Store Mosse national park is the largest untouched bog south of Lapland. The national park has vegetation that resembles the Norrland wilderness, and if you are lucky, you can spot both elk and golden eagles. About 40 km of hiking trails pass through the park, including some that have been adapted for accessibility. At the Naturum Visitor Centre you can learn more about nature and Store Mosse, observe birds or look at current exhibitions.
    On the guided walk with snow-shoes, we leave the safe board walks and head out among tussocks and watery hollows. Here we also take a break for a traditional Swedish fika. Store Mosse Nationalpark

  • Kleva Mine – The most beautiful visiting-mine in Sweden

    Since the end of the 17th century copper and later on nickel was recovered here. Today the mine is a visiting-mine in which the historic working environment is well preserved. Join us on a guided historical tour with an oil lamp among mine shafts and galleries. Experience the darkness, damp and raw cold, admire the glittering blue-green water and the shimmering walls.

    Gold prospecting in Ädelfors

  • We check in at Hotel Slottsvillan in Huskvarna. Huskvarna is called the garden city, and it is most famous for manufacturing motorcycles, sewing machines, weapon and many other things (the Husqvarna brand).

    Slottsvillan was built in 1896 inspired by English castles for Husqvarna Weapons Factory Director Wilhelm Tham. The house is a listed building and offers a genuinely preserved aristocratic environment from the turn of 1800-1900.

PROGRAM Day 3, Friday

  • Cycling

    The area is perfect for cycling! Try out some cycling products in the area called Sweden ́s Tuscany. As well as Huskvarna is ultimate for mountain bike cyclist due to its surprising and varying nature. Steep hills and sharp downslopes are mixed with challenging forest terrain. In 2016, Huskvarna organized European Championships in mountain biking.

    Gränna

    We travel from Jönköping to Gränna on one of the most beautiful highways in Sweden. Just after passing Huskvarna we will see part of Äppledalen, the Apple Valley, where they grow lots of apple on which they make cider, lemonade and many other well tasting dishes.
    Gränna is most well-known for its delicious peppermint sticks. We will visit a shop where you can see how the candy is made. Here you can also taste the fresh made candy.
